What's New in Branson
New Airport Opens!
Branson Airport, the first privately financed and operated commercial service airport in the United States, opened with daily commercial service on May 11. Currently, the airport has flights that connect Branson to major U.S. hubs in Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth and Minneapolis.
New Things to See and Do
The Mansion Theatre presents a limited engagement of Cathy Rigby in Peter Pan, the musical that first opened to rave reviews on Broadway in 1954 and later earned a Tony Award for Rigby, from May through December.
The Haygoods, Tony Roi plus Red, Hot & Blue move to the New Americana Theatre. The Haygoods have added a fourth show in 2009: “Cassandré – The Voice of An Angel,” with a full production show of pop, Broadway and classical songs backed by a full 10-piece orchestra.
The Welk Resort Theatre has added a brand new show featuring Lee Greenwood and The Bellamy Brothers to the fall line-up.
Andy Williams Moon River Theatre welcomes Righteous Brother Bill Medley, Paul Revere & The Raiders and The Original Comets.
Wedding Italiano opens this fall in Branson Landing. In this hilarious interactive comedy, the audience is part of the show. As “invited guests” the audience begin the evening witnessing the holy nuptials. Following the ceremony, a rousing reception takes place. Dancing, champagne toasts, a full pasta dinner and of course, a slice of the wedding cake are provided. Come be part of the Family!
The Payne Stewart Golf Club is a tribute course honoring the Springfield, Mo., native and golf legend. Located in the Branson Hills development in north Branson, all 18 holes are now open.
New Places to Stay
Castle Rock Resort & Waterpark, located at the former Atrium Inn, offers a new indoor waterpark.
A new Hampton Inn at Branson Hills is open, adjacent to the 18-hole Payne Stewart Golf Club at Branson Hills.
