Seven Reasons You Should Attend Veterans Homecoming Week in Branson

Whether you served or are serving our country, or simply are grateful for those who have and are, you need to be in Branson from Nov. 5-11.

That’s the week the city and community known for live entertainment and family fun sets aside to honor the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces during the annual Veterans Homecoming Week.

Branson is well-known as one of the most patriotic cities in the country, but love of country – and the show of appreciation for veterans – jumps to a different level during Homecoming Week.

With live shows and special activities, including a parade, there are countless reasons to be in Branson for Veterans Homecoming Week. Here’s a quick look at just a few of the activities and events on tap during this spectacular celebration:

  • Charlie Daniels is going to be there: The country-music icon has a concert at the Mansion Theatre on Nov. 4.
  • The Vets for Vets Celebration is awesome: This performance at Baldknobbers Theater featuring many performers who are veterans themselves!
  • It’s a moving experience: A replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial will be open at Welk Resort Branson throughout the week. The wall lists more than 58,000 service members who died in Vietnam.
  • 8th Annual Wal-Mart Tribute to Veterans: Once again, Wal-Mart staff, truck drivers and 5 of the finest distribution centers invite you to come join 2,000 of your veteran pals and their families to experience fun, fellowship, great entertainment and free lunch again this year. The show will be at the Mansion Theatre with the lunch to follow at the Branson Meadows.
  • The Gala is amazing and open to everyone: You can show your respect for veterans and enjoy live music and great food at the 21st Annual Military Gala and Banquet near Table Rock Dam. Tickets are $55.
  • Shows and events are part of the Branson experience: Along with the aforementioned Charlie Daniels, there’s a special event showcasing military films. The IMAX Military Film Festival will be held at the Branson IMAX Entertainment Complex from Nov. 6-10. Films are free to all veterans. 
  • Everybody loves a parade: Join the fun of the annual Veterans Day parade in downtown Branson on Nov. 11. It begins at 11 a.m. and is sure to be one of the highlights of the week!
