Big Cedar Lodge to host 417 Whiskey Fest

SPRINGFIELD, MO – Big Cedar Lodge and 417 Magazine announce dates for the second annual 417 Whiskey Fest. The event is Saturday, January 19, 2013, from 4:30 – 8p.m., in the Grandview Conference Center at Big Cedar Lodge, 612 Devil’s Pool Road, Ridgedale, Missouri. Tickets are $99 per person and the first 200 ticket holders receive a special tasting glass. Designated driver tickets are available at a reduced price. 417 Whiskey Fest is modeled after similar events in Philadelphia and Chicago and is the only Whiskey Festival in the five state area of Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Tennessee.

 

More than 18 distilleries showcasing more than 110 brands attend for ticket goers to sample their products. Rare whiskeys, along with local Moonshine, fill the room and representatives from distilleries are available to educate attendees. For first timers, a Whiskey 101 class is held at 4:00 by renowned Beam Global Whiskey Professor David Mays. For the connoisseurs, a rarest of the rare private tasting is available for an additional fee.  Missouri craft beers and wine tastings offer a diversion from the whiskey.

For the epicurean, the culinary team at Big Cedar Lodge, one of the Midwest’s premier luxury resorts, satisfies every want with multiple gourmet food displays throughout the conference center.  Immediately following 417 Whiskey Fest, ticket holders are invited to continue the festivities at the official after party on the Big Cedar Lodge property.

 

Guests are encouraged to make a weekend out of the event. Big Cedar Lodge offers special packages that include two tickets to 417 Whiskey Fest, overnight accommodations and two tickets to the Champagne Sunday Brunch hosted by Remy Martin at the revered Woman House.
