(Branson, MO 8/30/2012) Legendary country music stars Diamond Rio and Pam Tillis are featured in special concerts for Silver Dollar City’s first-ever Country Music Weekend, Saturday and Sunday September 8-9. Concerts are presented at park closing (6 p.m.) in the 4,000 seat Echo Hollow Amphitheater, with performances by Diamond Rio on Saturday and Pam Tillis on Sunday. Concerts are free with admission to all park guests.
Diamond Rio, Grammy and Dove Award winners, and four-time CMA* Vocal Group of the Year, are known for hits such as “One More Day” and “Beautiful Mess.” The first country music group in history to reach number one with the debut single, "Meet in the Middle,” Diamond Rio continues to top the charts, with a career spanning four decades.
Pam Tillis, platinum recording artist, Grammy winner and country music superstar, is known for hits including “Cleopatra, Queen of Denial” and “Maybe It Was Memphis.” A CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, Tillis has written many of her own hit songs and has recorded 15 albums including “It’s All Relative,” a tribute to her father, country music legend, Mel Tillis.
During Country Music Weekend, Silver Dollar City is open Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Country Music Weekend follows Southern Gospel Picnic, which runs through September 3, featuring top entertainers in Southern Gospel music, and precedes National Harvest Festival which begins September 13, with an All-New Western Stunt Show, more than 125 craftsmen and presenting a Salute to the Great American Cowboy.
