Come Celebrate an Ozark Mountain Christmas!

With star-filled Christmas music shows and glittering light displays, including the 1-mile Branson Area Festival of Lights drive-through, "The Live Music Show Capital of the World" kicks off its annual Ozark Mountain Christmas celebration Nov. 1.

Branson's star entertainers and their elaborate holiday productions are set to dazzle visitors during November and December. From "Mr. Christmas" Andy Williams with The Lennon Sisters, to Tony Orlando, The Osmond Brothers, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers with Debby Boone and the Oak Ridge Boys, there's a multitude of entertainers that showcase Branson's Christmas spirit.

Carols and cheer fill the air at Branson's family music shows like the Baldknobbers, Presleys, Duttons and the Hughes Brothers, and laughter rolls through the aisles at Jim Stafford, Hamner Barber and Paul Harris' shows.

Silver Dollar City rings in the holiday season with An Old Time Christmas. The 1880s-style theme park transforms into an evening wonderland, featuring the Christmas on Main Street light and sound show, 1,000 decorated Christmas trees, 5-story special effects Christmas Tree, a Holiday Light Parade, the Broadway-style production A Dickens' Christmas Carol, festive holiday foods and over four million lights – plus thrilling rides, as guests can soar into the night while viewing the awesome lights from above.

If there is Christmas shopping to do, Historic Downtown Branson is a good place to find great gifts, and there are three name-brand outlet malls, boutique shops and Christmas specialty shops throughout town.

For the kid in all of us, there's a special Holiday Lights Ride the Ducks to see the sights and lights on a sing-along holiday adventure through a lighted forest of twinkling snowflakes, candy canes and holiday ornaments.

At the Sight & Sound Theatre, "The Miracle of Christmas" — which tells the story of the birth of Jesus — comes to life for the season. You'll be touched to watch how it all unfolds with kings, angels and Mary and Joseph, a simple, faithful couple chosen by God. As a bonus, you'll have the opportunity to interact with the characters and see the animals up-close from the Nativity story.

And on Sunday, December 4, thousands of people gather in downtown Branson to watch a nighttime Christmas parade with no hint of commercialism. This year marks the 63rd Adoration Parade, an evening event with dozens of high school bands and lighted floats. The theme has always been "Keeping Christ in Christmas."

Award-Winning Actor Muse Watson to speak at unveiling of Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall

Muse Watson, the actor best known for his role as retired NIS agent Mike Franks, played a former Marine and Vietnam Veteran on the award-winning hit drama NCIS. But when it comes to courage under fire Watson knows our veterans and military are the real "stars." On November 4th Watson will stand together with the Branson Veterans Task Force and veterans from all over the world in Branson to speak at the unveiling ceremony for The Traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, what has become known as The Moving Wall. Watson will also dedicate an American flag to the Branson Veterans Task Force that was flown over Afghanistan by Master Sergeant, David Keller USAF, in honor of our veterans.

Watson will speak on November 4th at 10:00 am CST (1000 hrs) followed by the unveiling of The Traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and a photo opportunity at the Welk Theatre. This is a free ceremony and is open to the public. Additionally, Watson will be riding alongside Veteran Ernie Bradley, Chairman of The Branson Veterans Task Force in the 78th Veterans Parade on November 11th starting at 11:00 am CST in downtown Branson.

Watson is in Branson to perform in the stage version of 2010's favorite holiday movie, A Christmas Snow, written and directed by award-winning director Tracy J Trost. Trost has brought the original cast together for this holiday run at The Starlite Theatre Nov. 1-Dec. 30. Along with Watson, Catherine Mary Stewart (The Last Starfighter, Weekend at Bernie’s, Night of the Comet) and Cameron ten Napel (Cool Dog, The Lamp) will reprise their movie roles for the theatre stage. During Veterans Homecoming Week (November 4th - 11th) Veterans, their spouses or a guest will receive $10.00 off an adult ticket.

Silver Dollar City Presents Its Brightest Season, An Old Time Christmas

Silver Dollar City rings in its brightest season with one of the most acclaimed holiday festivals in America, An Old Time Christmas, presented November 5 – December 30.

An Old Time Christmas transforms the 1880s-style park into an evening wonderland, featuring the Christmas on Main Street light and sound show, 1,000 decorated Christmas trees, a Holiday Light Parade, the Broadway-style production A Dickens’ Christmas Carol – an international award finalist, festive holiday foods and over four million lights – and rides too. In temperatures down to 42 degrees, guests can soar into the night while viewing the park’s lights from above.

The 5-Story Special Effects Christmas Tree is the park centerpiece, a towering visual icon that comes to life at dusk each evening when the Christmas on Main Street shows begin. During the shows, the massive tree blazes in synchronization to the musical movements of Christmas songs -- up to 100 light changes per second -- while lights on buildings, in hanging canopies over Main Street and on Christmas trees around the Square flash along with it, accompanied by surround-sound, immersing guests in the experience. While technologically incredible, the tree is “green” too, operating with energy-saving LED* lights.

Silver Dollar City’s acclaimed production, A Dickens’ Christmas Carol, is a finalist for top production in the industry’s international Brass Ring Awards, with winners to be announced in mid-November. The popular show is an original musical adaptation of the famous classic by Charles Dickens, brought to life with elaborate sets and visual effects, flying spirits, pyrotechnic special effects and a talented cast of 14, accompanied by a live band.

Fine craftsmanship is also showcased, as the park’s 100 demonstrating craftsmen create one-of-a-kind handmade holiday items, from blown glass ornaments, angels and snowmen to pottery dessert platters and scotch-pine scented candles. Guests sing Christmas carols as they ride the Silver Dollar Steam Train and for nighttime thrills, most of the rides and the park’s five roller coasters are open after dark with great views of the lights from above. Tom & Huck’s RiverBlast offers raft rides through holiday lights – with water blasters turned off for Christmas.

Silver Dollar City’s Culinary & Craft School celebrates the holidays with classes ranging from holiday appetizers and pastry specialties to Christmas morning breakfast. The tastes of the season are in abundance throughout the park, including a prime rib buffet and traditional favorites such as turkey with apple-raisin dressing. Festive holiday treats from apple dumplings to hot wassail can be found throughout the park, and the bakery cooks up homemade fruitcakes, cookies and breads. For kids, there’s a lunch with Santa, available weekends throughout the festival.

During An Old Time Christmas, Silver Dollar City is open Thursdays through Sundays through December 23, plus Wednesday, November 23, closed Christmas Eve and Christmas day, and open daily December 26-30. Hours are 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. most days, with extended hours on Saturdays – check the website for exact schedules. Information: 800-831-4FUN(386) or visit www.silverdollarcity.com.

New Titanic Branson Exhibit-- Survivors' Wall of Stories

Ever wonder what happened to each of the survivors onboard the Titanic? For the first time in the world, the Titanic Museum Attraction in Branson will guide you through the individual journeys of each of the survivors on our NEW EXCLUSIVE Survivors' Wall of Stories.

“So many guests ask us, “What happened to our passenger that survived on our boarding pass?” For the first time in the world, after two years of research, we have been able to put their lives together after they reached New York City almost 100 years ago”, co-owner Mary Kellogg-Joslyn explains.

Titanic Museum Attraction organized a team of historians from around the world and after two years of research, compiled these survivors’ stories. Until now, the number of survivors has been unknown due to the inconsistent records kept by the rescue ship, Carpathia. Their list of rescues included duplicates and missing survivor names. Now, Titanic Museum Attraction has released one of the most detailed pieces of Titanic information ever compiled. There were 712 passengers and crew who were rescued including 201 from First Class, 118 from Second Class, 181 from Third Class, and 212 Crew Members.

Each and every day, Titanic Museum Attractions provides a gateway to 1912, where First Class Maids and a variety of Officers and crew members bring the stories of the fabled ship and its fascinating passengers to life by retelling their stories in vivid, dramatic detail. The priceless artifacts throughout the museum shed additional light on the lives of those passengers and crew members when guests see the actual belongings of those on board and artifacts that sailed on Titanic’s maiden voyage.

The World’s Largest TITANIC Museum Attraction (www.titanicbranson.com) is Branson, Missouri’s #1 year-round family destination. In operation since 2006, it has welcomed aboard more than four million guests. The 17,000 square-foot ship-shaped structure is built half-scale to the original Titanic and towers more than 100 feet above its anchored position on Highway 76. An optional 90-minute self-guided audio tour covers 20 galleries on two decks displaying over 400 priceless artifacts that once belonged to Titanic passengers or crew.

Hearts on Fire 2011
Hearts On Fire, a youth evangelism conference which began in 1986 will be celebrating 25 years of ministry this year. Over the past 25 years Hearts On Fire has grown from 150 to over 8,000 attendees from ten different states. The conference has been held each year in Tennessee with surrounding states attending.  We have seen literally thousands of teenagers come to faith in Christ and countless lives changed. Hearts On Fire has welcomed the likes of such speakers as Will Graham, Kirk Cameron, Tony Nolan, David Nasser, Dave Edwards, Sean McDowell and the phenomenal music of Third Day, Casting Crowns, 33 Miles, Charlie Hall, and Fee just to name a few. This year Hearts on Fire has added a new venue in Branson, Missouri.  We are excited about this year’s two day youth conference in Branson on October 28, 29 at the Welk Resort Theater. The cost for both days is only $35 per person.    Our guest speakers will be Tony Nolan and David Nasser. Tony’s passion is “helping people to ‘get it’ about God’s great love and salvation!” Tony recently served as Tour Pastor and Gospel Communicator for Casting Crowns Lifesong Tour and Winter Jam.  His love of Jesus and people is evidenced every time he speaks. Tony uses his wacky humor and passion for Christ to help people connect with God in a life-changing way. David Nasser has been blessed with the talent to reach the high tech, attention-lacking culture of Generation Next.  Alongside his own full time ministry, D. Nasser Outreach, and now Pastor of Christ City Church in Birmingham, Alabama he also works several times a year with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Team as a speaker for citywide youth rallies, crusade testimony and Schools of Evangelism.  His sincere passion and urgent desire to communicate Christ’s love is truly anointed by God. Music this year will be provided by 33 Miles & Kristian Stanfill. Chris Lockwood and Jason Barton of 33Miles are Christ-focused, and their heaven-minded life fuels everything they do, especially their music. You won’t want to miss concerts by 33 Miles & Kristian Stanfill. In addition to the above mentioned concerts Roger Williams & the All Mixed-Up Quartet will join us for praise and worship.  They recently recorded their first national CD release with 4 time Dove Award winning and Grammy nominated producer Travis Wyrick. Their eclectic rock sound includes modern guitar leads, earthy mandolin fills, soulful vocals, and an occasional dash of 80's power rock for good measure. 3D will bring the drama of music to life as they present their dance and drama ministry that is unique from anything you may have ever seen. Blending different elements from jazz, hip-hop, ballet, sign language and drama, their mission is to bring both Christians and non-Christians into a face to face encounter with Jesus Christ.

This award-winning quartet got its start in 1992 at Silver Dollar City, and for many years they headlined the park’s evening show in the Echo Hollow Amphitheater. In 1999, Chosen Few signed a national record deal with Journey Records in Nashville, Tennessee. The first national recording was titled, "Great Big God,” with their first radio single being an old Nat King Cole song, "The First Baseball Game.” In 2001, the group's second national release garnered greater success, culminating with the guys winning "Progressive Southern Gospel Song of the Year" for "Little Things,” a Brian Arnold original song. By the end of 2001, Chosen Few had won "Show of the Year" in the Branson music awards for Silver Dollar City’s show, “Sundown Jubilee.” In 2005, the group disbanded to pursue individual callings. Make plans now to attend the reunion show of the year, Chosen Few – 20th Anniversary Celebration at the Andy Williams Moon River Theatre.
