Branson, The Live Music Show Capital of the World, is heating up the New Year with Hot Winter Fun in January and February!  Mild winter weather in the Ozark Mountains, combined with seasonal special offers for value-minded visitors, creates an ideal opportunity to get away and enjoy Branson’s shows, attractions, shopping, museums, championship golf, world-class fishing, cozy lakeside resorts and much more.

“If you’ve got a case of the winter blues and a little cabin fever – get up and get away to Branson! We’re open for fun,” says Buck Trent, internationally renowned banjo picker and country humorist. “In Branson, we’ve got the answer to your winter doldrums.”

Branson is celebrating 50 Years of Live Music Shows in 2009. The musical variety visitors have come to expect in Branson can be found during Hot Winter Fun and includes Big Band, Broadway, country, swing, rock ‘n’ roll, pop, bluegrass, jazz, gospel, patriotic, classical, and more. There is music made famous by contemporary composers, cowboy poets, cinematic blockbusters, ’50s heartthrobs, ’60s pop bands, and today’s Top 40 artists can be heard from early morning until late at night in Branson.

February 9 is the 15th annual Hot Winter Fun Big Show, featuring a stellar line-up of Branson entertainers. For tickets, call the Jim Stafford Theatre at 417-335-8080.

With average daytime temperatures that rise well into the 50s, the winter months are a great time to visit Branson. In fact, trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo is ideal this time of year. There’s no shortage of things to do and see. Many area resorts and lodging properties offer great discounts during the winter months. For more information and to find Hot Winter Fun Special Offers, you can check out ExploreBranson.com.

As the daytime temperatures begin to rise and the dogwoods, redbuds and wildflowers transform the Ozarks into a springtime oasis, Branson’s world-famous live music shows celebrate 50 years, while family attractions and unique theme parks introduce new acts, features, and exhibits for the season. New this year, Ozark Mountain Spring will offer special events and festivals for every interest held throughout the community.

From March through May, Ozark Mountain Spring’s full calendar will feature the thrill of NAIA college basketball and one of the nation’s largest air shows; collector car auctions and culinary demonstrations; FLW bass tournaments as well as the international folk music and cuisines of World-Fest, to name just a few. Spring is a perfect time to experience all that the Branson/Lakes Area has to offer.

New in 2009, The Great American Pie Show, featuring NBC’s Al Roker as a celebrity judge, will be held April 24-25 at the Branson Convention Center. Culinary events are popular nationwide and Taste of Home magazine’s cooking demonstrations will be a part of the festivities that weekend.

Special events are planned each week during Ozark Mountain Spring including the Branson Tri-Lakes Building and Home Show, Kewpiesta at Rose O’Neill’s beloved Bonniebrook and Silver Dollar City’s Bluegrass & BBQ Festival.

“Ozark Mountain Spring reflects another successful concept: Ozark Mountain Christmas,” said Ross Summers, President/CEO of the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB.

Twenty years ago, Branson went dark after Thanksgiving. Now, November has become Branson’s second busiest month. Ozark Mountain Christmas has become one of the region’s top holiday destinations. It is so successful that it was featured last year on the Travel Channel’s “Most Christmasy Places” special.

AREA '57 is host to the "AREA '57 Cruise-In & Drive-In presented by American National Insurance" event, a cruise-in like no other in the Midwest. Our Cruise-In and Drive-In concept takes the ordinary, boring cruise-in to the next level! AREA '57 Cruise-In's & Drive-In's will feature all the activities the car enthusiasts have come to enjoy; games, music and great food, but with the bonus of a FREE Drive-In Movie for them to enjoy before heading home. The best part is this FREE event is open to both the owners of classic and custom cars AND those who enjoy them. AREA '57 will feature the "B” movie classics of the 60"s and 70’s as well as all your favorite car movies both past and present.
