The Petersen Family Band moved to Branson, MO in 2007 after Jon (the father) retired from the United States Air Force. They liked Branson for its love of God, Country and acoustic music. Led by daughter Katie, a student at College of the Ozarks, and her sister Ellen (entering college freshman at C of O), along with brother Matthew, (high school sophomore), they enjoy blending their voices and instruments, using their gifts to honor God and please audiences throughout the South and Midwest.
Katie plays wonderful fiddle breaks and tunes while Ellen drives the band with her one-of-a-kind hot pink Hopkins banjo. Matthew enjoys rhythm guitar and bass along with his father. The sweetheart of the family, Julianne, age 8, captures the hearts of audiences with her solo vocals and now twin fiddle tunes with her older sister. Karen (the mom) adds her mandolin to the mix to complete the bluegrass sound. The band performs in several venues including cafes, theaters, churches, benefits, bluegrass competitions, and festivals, including Silver Dollar City’s Bluegrass and BBQ Festival. You will enjoy the fresh sound of a family who loves playing together with a focus on both traditional and gospel bluegrass music.
