| Wednesday, Mar. 10 | Heart for Haiti Benefit Concert
Groups like The World Famous Platters, The Hughes Family and the amazing vocal group, Six have joined together for the Heart for Haiti Benefit Concert, an afternoon show featuring more than fifteen musical acts. The benefit will begin on March 10th, at 3:00 pm at The Hughes Family Theater. “The show was conceived and developed by artists and performers as a benefit for Haiti,” says Laine Perry, a representative of Community for the World, the group planning the event. “It quickly became obvious to partner with Convoy of Hope.” The Springfield based organization has been established in Haiti for three years with a feeding program that provides a daily meal for 11,000 children. “For years, the Ozarks have received help from Convoy of Hope in times of need,” says Perry. “Now, Convoy of Hope is providing relief in Haiti and it’s our turn to help.” Since the massive 7.0 earthquake, the organization has distributed more than 3.6 million meals, 40,000 hygiene kits and has already installed more than 100 water filters with plans to install 5,000 in the coming days, weeks and months. The Heart for Haiti Benefit Concert will replenish much needed funding, allowing many of the remaining 3 million Haitians impacted by the quake to find basic sustenance and hope for their future. The concert will be an open-seated, non-ticketed event. Admission will be by cash or check donation to Convoy of Hope. The Hughes Brothers Theater is located at 3425 W. Hwy 76 in Branson, MO. |

Bonniebrook is famous for its annual spring Open House and Tea. There’s always live entertainment and delicious light refreshments, plus tours of the Bonniebrook Museum and home, and it’s all free and open to the public. This family-friendly event takes place on Saturday afternoon at the family homestead of American artist Rose O'Neill. The 2010 celebration will include a visit with live Kewpies from Hickman High School in Columbia, MO, where their school mascot has been the Kewpie since 1913!
