Budget-Friendly Branson Brings Back "Gas Buster" Cards

Responding to the increase in the price of gas this year, the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB is once again offering summer visitors a Gas Buster discount card. Good at dozens of live music shows, area attractions, lodging properties, retail shops and restaurants, the card is worth a total of $50 off purchases. Folks signing up for the 2011 Gas Buster discount card, will also have a chance to win a “Great Getaway” to return to Branson!

"Bringing back the Gas Buster discount card, Branson is helping people save some money on their family vacation. Our local businesses are willing to work together so that visitors can afford to do all the things they like to do when they come to Branson,” according to Righteous Brother Bill Medley, who performs with his daughter, McKenna Medley, at the Starlite Theatre. “Our family really enjoys living in Branson. There is something for everyone! If you are looking for museums, theme parks, golf and lakes, along with shopping, dining and world-class entertainment, you’ll find it all in Branson!”

Between June 1 and Aug. 31, 2011, the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB will give a Gas Buster discount card to anyone who presents a valid drivers’ license and a minimum of $40 in gas receipts incurred within 48 hours of their arrival at the Chamber’s Welcome Center, located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 65 and Missouri Highway 248 in Branson. Gas Buster card holders are automatically entered to win the grand prize 3-day/2-night vacation in Branson, which will be awarded on September 1, 2011.

Gas Buster discount cards and the list of participating sponsors will be issued only from the Chamber/CVB Welcome Center. Business hours are 8am to 6pm, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm on Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. Gas Buster promotion runs from June 1 through Aug. 31, 2011. Visitor Information:

1. Save your gas receipts during your trip to Branson.
2. Arrive at the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce & CVB Welcome Centers, located at Highways 65 and 248. Hours are from 8am to 6pm, Mondays through Fridays; 8am to 5pm Saturdays and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
3. Present a valid driver’s license along with your gas receipt or receipts dated within the previous two days of arrival. Visitors will get to keep their gas receipts. They will be marked by Welcome Center staff so they cannot be presented twice.
4. Total gas receipts for each visitor must equal $40 or more to receive a Gas Buster Discount Card. For every $40 in receipts presented, one $50 Gas Buster Discount Card will be issued.
5. Visitors will also get a list of participating Branson area Gas Buster sponsors.
6. Present your Gas Buster Discount Card at one of the participating sponsor businesses to receive great discounts.
7. The Welcome Center staff will explain the following terms and restrictions printed on the back of the Gas Buster Discount Card.

Gas Buster discounts are not valid with any other coupons, special offers or discounts; not available on pre-purchased tickets, lodging, attractions or meals. Offer valid only at participating Gas Buster sponsors. Sponsors have the right to further restrictions. The Gas Buster Summer Promotion runs from June 1 through Aug. 31, 2011.

Win a Vacation to Branson!

Gas Buster Discount Card holders will be automatically entered in a Grand Prize Drawing for a 3-day/2-night Branson Vacation to be given away by the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce & CVB!  

The drawing for one Grand Prize vacation will be held on Sept. 1, 2011. Winner will be chosen from all entrants and notified by phone.

Participating Sponsor Information: 

1. Please display the “Gas Buster Sponsor” sign prominently.
2. Before conducting a sales transaction, ask the customer to present any discount cards or coupons.
3. Please explain any additional restrictions or requirements your business has for proper redemption of the Gas Buster Discount.
4. The Gas Buster Discount Card has spaces designated for punch out, or mark-out once the appropriate value of the space has been discounted for the customer.
5. The Gas Buster Discount Card contains the following designated discounts:
   $4 off per night for lodging (5 spaces on the card total $20)
   $2 off per show ticket (6 spaces on the card total $12)
   $2 off per attraction admission (4 spaces on the card total $8)
   $2 off per retail purchase (2 spaces on the card total $4)
   $2 off per restaurant receipt (3 spaces on the card total $6)
6. Encourage customers to visit other area Gas Buster Sponsors.
