What's New in 2015


Centered around the headquarters of “Fire Station #3,” the newest addition opens this spring and includes Fire Spotter, with soaring balloons for spotting fire dangers; Fire Wagon Frenzy, a bouncing ride for bucket brigade volunteers; FireFall, an 8-story fire tower free-fall drop ride for the more daring recruits; Roundabout, a bouncy ride on Dalmatians racing around a fire hydrant; Up The Ladder, a smaller tower drop ride for junior recruits; and Fireman’s Flyers, a low-flying swing ride for little firefighters.  Your family will enjoy Firehouse Splash Yard, with squirting water jets and pump hoses; Firefighter’s Fire Drill, with buckets, pumpers, foam ball cannons; Firefighter’s Fire Escape, an obstacle course of tubes, mazes, climbing structures and slides, and Firefighter’s Junior Fire Escape, a soft play area for toddlers.


Big names are coming to Branson in 2015. The Oak Ridge Boys Theatre welcomes Charlie Daniels, Johnny Mathis, Little River Band, Bill Cosby, and, of course, the Oak Ridge Boys, who will be performing throughout the year. 

Andy Williams Moon River Theatre hosts Rick Springfield, B.J. Thomas, Moe Bandy & Joe Stampley with special guest Jeannie Seely, and Ronnie Milsap in his “Farewell Tour” with the last appearance in our area at the close of his incredible career. Singer, comedian and celebrity impressionist Terry Fator is the most recent addition to the lineup at Moon River, which includes the Osmond Brothers and the Lennon Sisters, illusionist Rick Thomas, Collin Raye, Mary Wilson of The Supremes and others to be announced soon. 

Several national recording artists will perform in Branson next year at the Star Theater. The Concerts in Branson series will kick off on February 14 with a “Hot Country Night” featuring Mark Wills, Wade Hayes, and Bryan White. Other acts scheduled for the 2015 season include Doug Stone on June 13 and Jo Dee Messina on July 11. 


In June, Silver Dollar City’s family-focused festival, Star-Spangled Summer, features slam-dunk hit entertainment with the Harlem Globetrotters headlining and performing in an exhibition of basketball expertise. This will be the first time for the team to present a basketball experience encapsulated into 30-minute performances presented three times daily for six weeks, showcasing highlights from the Globetrotters’ one-of-a-kind touring show. The legendary world-touring team, with an 88-year tradition of family entertainment, will exhibit their trademark basketball wizardry in a unique and innovative display of amazing skills, athleticism and humor. 


Welk Resort Theatre is proud to present an all-new production of Million Dollar Quartet, the Tony Award winning Broadway musical, inspired by the electrifying true story of the famed recording session where Sam Phillips, the “Father of Rock ‘n’ Roll” brought together icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for one unforgettable night. Opens June 2015 and runs through December.


One of the most popular dance productions, Spirit of the Dance, has returned from its international record-breaking tour for the 2015 season. The show has added additional styles of choreography and combined the spotlight of traditional Irish Dance with many other styles, including Scottish Highland flings, Spanish flamenco, Cuban salsa and a fast-paced, jazzed-up version of the French can can. One of the most successful shows ever to come out of Ireland, it has been seen by more than thirty million people around the world.

Puttin’ on the Ritz, has sold out venues worldwide, and King’s Castle is proud to announce it will make its debut onstage in Branson in 2015. The elegance, grace, originality and precision of tap, ballet, and ballroom with innovative song and dance routines from major musical films over the last 50 years of the golden age of Hollywood, it features a dazzling tribute to the award-winning Fred Astaire, recreated live on stage.


Branson AirExpress, operated by Elite Airways, will fly between Branson Airport (BKG) and Houston (HOU), starting Feb. 23, and between Branson Airport and Denver (DEN), starting April 16.  Flights will be in 50-seat CRJ-200 jets.   Branson AirExpress, operated by Buzz Airways, will fly between Branson Airport and Chicago (MDW), and between Branson Airport and Austin (AUS), starting May 8. Those flights will be in 30-seat Jetstream 41 jets. Flights to the four cities are available for purchase at introductory one-way fares, $159 to Houston and Denver, and $149 to Chicago and Austin.

The new flights will replace service previously operated by other carriers.  The flight schedule to all markets has been designed to allow customers to book separate tickets on other airlines in order to connect to/from popular gateways through all four cities.


Transforming the 76 Country Boulevard entertainment district into a more exciting and accessible area, the City of Branson selected a team of planning and design professionals, led by CFS Engineers, to create a Master Plan for the entire five-mile corridor. Plans include the removal of overhead utilities, construction of safer pedestrian and bicycle paths, trolley stops for future expansion, and most importantly, fun, interactive, “uniquely Branson” features that will connect with local businesses and enhance the tourists’ experience. Groundbreaking will take place in 2015. 


Recently added 27,000-sq.-ft. of fashion-focused brands to the center includes Adidas, Express Factory Outlet, Helzberg Diamonds Outlet, Pandora, Sunglass Hut, and Talbots Outlet. Tanger expects to announce several additional stores soon. Shopper Services, located between The Fudgery and Banana Republic Factory Store, has been remodeled and features comfortable seating, free WiFi access and free mobile device charging stations, as well as a new family restroom and mothers’ nursing room.  A new parking lot has been added to the west side of the property, offering convenient access to public restrooms and the front of the center through a new public access hallway. 


Visitors strolling the 95-acre retail and entertainment destination, located in historic downtown Branson, along the beautiful Lake Taneycomo waterfront, will experience several new exciting elements. Check out Parakeet Pete’s Waterfront Balloon, offering the thrill of a balloon ride with spectacular views of Branson and Lake Taneycomo. There are new fountain shows, “Livin’ on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi and “Hoe-Down Rodeo Ballet” by Aaron Copland featuring the London Symphony Orchestra. Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant & Bar will be located on the Branson Landing in the Hilton Promenade with a Grand Opening this Spring.
