Exciting Museums and Attractions for Memorable Off-Site Events

Planning a meeting in Branson gives event planners a diverse array of options for holding scheduled off-site events, as well as pre- and post-conference activities. Because of that, many of the fun venues that are popular with Branson’s vacation-goers are also set up to coordinate events for large groups and meeting attendees.

Here are eight creative ideas to get you thinking about the possibilities for memorable off-site events paired with a Branson convention or event:

Branson Auto & Farm Museum

Having a dinner or social event amongst the priceless cars at the Branson Auto & Farm Museum makes for an unforgettable off-site for attendees. The 90,000 square-foot venue encloses more than 2 acres indoors and is dedicated to anything automotive, from vintage cars to street rods to current-day muscle cars. Located on the east end of the Highway 76 entertainment district just minutes from downtown and the convention center, the museum features a large, flexible lobby, meeting space and a versatile serving area. The facility can provide seating for plated meals for up to 150 attendees and can accommodate both traditional catering and on-site food trucks. The flexible space is a convenient location for mingle mixers like wine tastings and ice cream socials for up to several hundred attendees. The museum also can provide staging and AV equipment for speakers or live entertainment.

Top of the Rock Cave Tour and Natural History Museum

Located south of Branson at Top of the Rock — which is a beautiful and unique place for off-site events of all kinds — are the Top of the Rock Lost Canyon Cave and Nature Trail and the Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum. Your attendees can take a 2 ½ mile ride on an electric cart along a scenic mountain trail and through a four-story cave with a cascading waterfall. They also can tour the museum, which is home to the carbon-dated remains of a woolly mammoth, a saber tooth cat and a prehistoric cave bear; the exhibits were created by the same team that made notable displays at the Chicago Field Museum. In addition to these attractions, Top of the Rock offers meeting planners 20 different private venue options, from balconies to wine cellars to banquet rooms. There is an on-site restaurant which provides food and drink services property-wide, and of course the on-site Jack Nicklaus Signature Course will beckon to golfers.

Fritz’s Adventure

One of the city’s newest attractions is Fritz’s Adventure, a massive indoor/outdoor complex with underground tunnels, indoor ziplines, climbing walls, a ropes course and many other mazes and challenges. The attraction has a number of private event rooms that can accommodate from 20-100 people and are well-suited for meeting attendees or corporate outings. Whether it’s a pizza and ice cream social or an organized team-building exercise, this facility provides many unique and fun possibilities. As a self-guided outing for attendees or their families, the attraction offers an admission discount for groups of 20 or more.

Bigfoot on the Strip

Another new Branson attraction is the indoor-outdoor amusement center called Bigfoot on the Strip. All of the attractions are themed around Bigfoot and the centerpiece of the complex is a 200-foot tower that features two adrenaline-pumping rides: The Gravity Bomb and The Saddle Swing. The facility also includes a food truck dining park, an arcade, a mini-golf course, a multi-purpose meeting room, an adventure maze, a Yeti Treehouse and private event rooms. There’s even an opportunity to take a tour outside of Branson to Bigfoot Farms, a working cattle farm where attendees can look for signs of Bigfoot activity. What a fun spot for a board retreat!

Titanic Museum Attraction

The replica Titanic on Highway 76 is an unmissable Branson landmark, and the museum/attraction is also a great place for off-site events. The museum gives attendees a chance to feel like passengers as they tour the storied ship, walking the hallways, parlors and the Grand Staircase, while surrounded by more than 400 priceless artifacts. The ship’s crew often works with planners to create special progressive dinner parties, “murder mystery” evening events and formal dinner parties. They also can organize “Night at the Museum” sleepovers and band and choir events for youth attendees.

The Branson Ferris Wheel

Relatively new to the city’s skyline, the Branson Ferris Wheel spent the first two decades of its life on Navy Pier in Chicago. The wheel was modeled after the first “Ferris Wheel,” built in Chicago by Gale Ferris, Jr. for the World’s Columbian Exposition in 1893. This attraction is located at the heart of Branson’s Highway 76 entertainment district and offers special rates for groups of 20 or larger. The 150-foot high wheel has 40 gondolas and can accommodate up to 240 passengers. The entire ferris wheel and surrounding grounds can also be reserved for private outdoor events, depending on season and time of day.

The Sky Deck

Located across Lake Taneycomo from the Branson Landing, event attendees arrive at The Sky Deck via the motorized Parakeet Pete’s Waterfront Zipline. Once there, they enjoy the best view of Downtown Branson and experience a great venue for private outdoor events, complete with a bar and entertainment stage. The facility can accommodate up to 150 attendees and is ideal for sunset-watching and after-dark events.

Hollywood Wax Museum

Meeting attendees love the “red carpet treatment” they get at the Hollywood Wax Museum, which sits under the shadow of King Kong climbing a skyscraper. The museum is open to the public 365 days a year, so it’s not able to close for private events. However, it does offer special rates for groups of 20 or more via the website BookBransonWax.com. Groups and conference attendees are met when they arrive and given a special introduction to the Hollywood-themed activities on the property, which include the wax museum, Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors, Shoot for the Stars Mini-Golf and the Castle of Chaos ride/attraction.
