Last Season for World-Fest

A tradition dating back more than 20 years is coming to an end in Branson. But it’s going out with a bang, not a whimper.

World-Fest, a celebration of global cultures, kicks off April 7 and runs through May 1 (Wednesdays through Sundays) at Silver Dollar City, the 1880s theme park known for its world-class rides, attractions, demonstrations, music, food and (of course) festivals.

Your global adventure at Silver Dollar City’s World-Fest takes you to: At World-Fest, you’ll be all smiles while enjoying the international influences showcased in live entertainment, music and fabulous food.

  • Eastern Europe: The troupe known as Slask has more than 35 performers showcasing traditional song and dance. Performances are in the Opera House.
  • Africa: Skillful acrobatic routines and traditional instruments such as the jambe drums are hallmarks of shows performed by Cirque Zuma Zuma. Shows are at the Red Gold Heritage Hall.
  • The South Pacific: Singers and dancers from Island Fire transport you to the islands of Tahiti, Samoa and Hawaii while the skills and showmanship of World Fire Knife Champion Aneul Iakopo will leave you breathless. See shows at the Riverfront Playhouse.
  • The Caribbean: Steel drums are the focal point of the calypso and reggae songs performed by Stix on Steel, popular World-Fest performers, made up of musicians from Trinidad and Tobago. At the Boatworks Theater.
  • South America: The Ozarks will feel like the Andes when Ecuador Manta performs using a variety of instruments, including the zampona (a type of panpipe). Shows are at The Gazebo.
  • Ireland: You’ll feel like the lucky one when Dearbhail Finnegan performs on the Irish harp, accompanied by her husband, Robin Slater (who plays the silver flute and Irish drum). Also performing in Boatworks Theater.

Of course, no trip to Silver Dollar City is complete without sampling (or totally diving into) the amazing food. During World-Fest, the menu at the Frisco Barn features dishes such as the Cubano sandwich (sliced pork, ham and Swiss cheese with pickles and mustard and served on a ciabatta bun) along with internationally inspired calzones, skillets and other items.

World-Fest is one of the many exciting events and activities waiting for you in Branson, where family fun and a generous dose of culture are always on the itinerary. Start planning your Branson vacation and embrace the opportunity to experience World-Fest one last time.
