Team Building in Branson

Team building events are a great way to build camaraderie among meeting attendees and also a quick path to a memorable event. The Branson area has a number of properties and facilities that have team building events ready for meeting planners, so they can focus on other facets of their meeting.

Here are a few options that are popular with meeting attendees that come to Branson:

Silver Dollar City

Named one of America’s Top 10 Parks by Fodor’s Travel, Silver Dollar City is also a great place for groups, conventions and corporate team building. Of course, your attendees will have fun shopping, dining, going to shows, exploring the unique 1880s-era parks and of course, riding the dozens of rides. In 2018, that will include Time Traveler, the world’s fastest, steepest and tallest spinning roller coaster.

But in addition to the theme park fun, there also are a number of opportunities for training, team building and corporate events at the park. For business groups, Silver Dollar City offers free use of the park’s venues for presentations, speeches, award ceremonies, meetings, social functions, banquets and more. The park’s indoor venues can seat up to 1,100 and outdoor venues can accommodate up to 4,500 attendees. The staff also has ready-to-deploy scavenger hunts and other team-building activities.

Most significantly, the planning and day-of-event work is handled by the park’s staff, so the event organizer has the freedom to show up and participate with the rest of their group. For more information, contact the sales department at 417-338-8235.

Big Cedar Lodge

Located in the mountains overlooking Table Rock Lake, Big Cedar Lodge is an expansive upscale resort with many opportunities for team building activities. The facility also has ample meeting and lodging space, so after the fun, it’s easy to transition to business.

New in 2017 at Big Cedar Lodge is Fun Mountain, a 50,000-square-foot adventure complex that gives groups opportunities to have fun and connect as a team. The new facility is a great way to build camaraderie through healthy competition in the laser tag arena or the underwater bowling alley.

The Big Cedar staff also can organize “Ozark Olympics” for groups that want some healthy competition. Olympic “sports” include a pie-eating contest, cattle roping, seed spitting, horseshoes and “patty” tossing. There’s also the “Big Cedar Buck Off,” where participants can don chaps and compete in a mechanical bull-riding rodeo.

The staff also can organize lawn games like horseshoes, cornhole, washers and tic-tac-toe. The property’s manicured lawn is a great place for picnics, boxed lunches, putt putt golf and sand volleyball matches. There’s also opportunities for scavenger hunts either on the Big Cedar property or a “pirate treasure” scavenger hunt that takes place on boats on Table Rock Lake.

Many teams will choose “game show” themed events, including casino nights, Minute to Win It, Bingo, the Newlywed Game and Win, Lose or Draw games. More low-key options for team-building activities include “paint and pour” events and whiskey tastings.

Chateau on the Lake Resort, Spa and Convention Center

Overlooking Table Rock Lake is another great property for corporate meetings and team building opportunities: Chateau on the Lake Resort, Spa and Convention Center.

The property’s culinary team, led by Executive Chef Paul Trout, can lead participants through cooking demonstrations and culinary exercises. Groups can also take part in more outdoorsy team-building activities, such as yard games, scavenger hunts and poker runs on Table Rock Lake. The property also can help organize “paint and pour” events, yoga classes and even set up lake excursions on the Spirit of America catamaran.

Since the property has a full-service spa on-site, the staff can also provide chair massages for event attendees or even conduct seminars on healthy living. Another unique option is the resort can coordinate a special on-site evening fireworks show for corporate groups.

Planners can get more information by contacting the hotel at 888-333-5253.

Fritz’s Adventure

Another unique facility with great team-building options for event attendees is Fritz’s Adventure, an 80,000-SF indoor adventure park packed with climbing, zip-lining and a massive ropes course. The attraction also has a number of private event rooms that can accommodate from 20-100 people. There is also Fritz’s Cafe, an observation level that offers ample seating and food services.

Perhaps the most popular activity for groups is the three-story ropes course, where participants wear harnesses and move through the air as high as 40-feet above the ground. There’s also a laser room and a “city wall,” where team members can climb several-story urban brick walls. The outside of the building also serves as a massive rock climbing wall with belay ropes attached to the top of the structure.
