Law Enforcement Week

The Ozarks have down-home values, including utmost respect and appreciation for law enforcement, and Branson is no exception.

In fact, the Branson Tri-Lakes area hosts an annual Law Enforcement Recognition Week. This event invites active and retired law-enforcement personnel and their families to attend a week long series of activities that pay tribute to and honor those that serve and protect their communities. The 2018 celebration takes place June 9-16 with a variety of special events planned for the men and women of the law-enforcement community. 

Saturday June 9:

The week will start off with Run the Line Trail Race 5k/10k trail run through beautiful Ozark scenery, which begins at 8 a.m. June 9 in Dewey Short, Branson, MO – Trail Head 1 (Red Route from Branson Belle). Runners of all skill levels can participate in this trail run. With only 10 percent uphill at a 10 percent grade, the single-track trails are mostly flat and downhill making it an enjoyable run. Runners will come across one creek crossing obstacle with loose rocks and leaves on the trails making it a great way to view spectacular scenery. 

Sunday June 10:

Beginning at 10 a.m. on June 10 at The Sanctuary of Hope, enjoy this special worship service for all Law Enforcement Officers. A special Honor Guard Presentation by Missouri State Highway Patrol will be performed during the service. An Ice Cream Social with fun for the kids on the Lawn of the church after the service concludes.

Monday June 11:

The Law on the Links Golf Tournament on June 11 is held Ledgestone Golf Course at Stonebridge is open to active and retired law enforcement from across the United States. The tournament will award prizes to golfers who achieve the longest putt, the longest drive and the closest to pin. Prizes will also be awarded to the three best finishers in each flight. Registration must occur by June 4 and includes a lunch and 18-holes with a golf cart. A limited number of team positions will be available to non-law enforcement participants.

Tuesday June 12:

Officers and their families are invited to Silver Dollar City’s “Officer Appreciation Day” on June 12. Law enforcement will receive discounts at any of the following locations providing a valid department photo ID. Silver Dollar City is offering Law Enforcement Officer or Employee free one-day admission with valid ID and one-day admission for $32.50 plus tax per dependent (up to four). White Water is offering Law Enforcement Officer or Employee free one-day admission with valid ID and one-day admission for $20 plus tax per dependent (up to four). Showboat Branson Belle is offering Law Enforcement Officer or Employee free one-day admission with valid ID and one-day admission for $28 plus tax per dependent (up to four).

Wednesday June 13:

Starting at 9 a.m. on June 13, active and retired law enforcement officers invited to the Shooting Competition held at Bass Pro’s Outdoor Shooting Academy at Big Cedar Lodge. This competition has multiple shooting stages including: 6-6 inch round plates at 10 yards, close to far, 6 across at 10 yards, hostage taker and body armor drill. Announcement of winners will be after the competition has concluded.
Later that same day, Fritz’s Adventure invites law enforcement individuals to join to their dynamic adventure-based indoor family attraction. All law Enforcement employees can get in for free with valid ID or commission card while their immediate family will receive 50 percent off from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. Between 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Fritz’s Adventure parking lot will be lined with food trucks.

Thursday June 14:

First Annual Law Enforcement Bass Tournament from 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Long Creek Marina is a great way to enjoy a day on beautiful Table Rock Lake while helping our Law Enforcement Week be possible. This tournament is open to all boaters that are minimum of 18 years old; unless partnered with parent, spouse or guardian; with a valid Missouri fishing permit.
Don’t miss the Light Run at Branson Landing starting at 8 p.m. See law enforcement vehicles from all over the nation come together to lit up the Branson Landing.

Friday June 15:

5th Annual Motorcycle Training will be held at Home Depot, located at 1000 Branson Hills Parkway in Branson, MO. This training is in preparation for the 5th Annual Law Enforcement Recognition Motorcycle Rodeo happening the next day. Coordinated by the Missouri State Highway, one of the largest motorcycle safety sills training event held in Southwest Missouri.

Saturday June 16:

The 5th Annual Law Enforcement Recognition Motorcycle Rodeo, as held at Home Depot, will begin at 8 a.m. on June 16. Active and retired law enforcement, along with the public, are welcome to come witness the motorcycle rodeo. If you like to participate, officers must pre-register online by June 15.
Also beginning at 8 a.m. is the Fourth Annual Heart of the Ozarks Police Collector’s Show held at the Radisson Hotel Branson. This showcase has free admission and highlights police artifacts and memorabilia. Following the Collector’s Show, is the Keynote Banquet held at the Radisson Hotel Branson. The social hour begins at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy the hilarious entertainment of the ‘Tellin Tales’ comedy tour while with the delicious dinner. Tickets can be purchased for just $25 per person.

Men and women across our nation put their lives on the line daily to keep others safe, and Branson is set to become the nation's leader in law-enforcement recognition. Visit Branson June 9-16 and take part in all the special events planned for the men and women of the law-enforcement community.
