Make May Memorable with Branson Events

The school year is nearing its end and Memorial Day is in sight. Yes, summer’s coming and Branson is the place to be for exciting events in May.

Live music and shopping events are happening in Branson throughout the month of May, as are activities for veterans and commemoration events for Memorial Day.

Here’s a look at some of the fun activities happening this May in Branson:

Tanger Outlets Thanks Teachers and Nurses

Teachers and nurses who show a valid work ID will receive a free coupon book to be used at shops within the outlet mall during the month of May.

Bluegrass and BBQ

This popular event at Silver Dollar City features what you’d expect – plenty of toe-tappin’ tunes and savory barbecue at every turn. Performers include Missouri’s own Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, along with The Grascals, Nothin’ Fancy and more. A special performance by Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder is slated for May 28. Bluegrass and BBQ runs May 4-28 (Silver Dollar City is closed on Mondays in May).

Branson Market Days

If you like to shop, this is one event you won’t want to miss. Just outside the Branson Convention Center in downtown Branson, this extravaganza features handmade items, antiques, boutique items, jewelry, clothing, furniture and other wares over Mother’s Day Weekend (May 12-13).

Annual Veterans Benefit Show

Sponsored by the Vietnam Veterans of America, this incredible show at Hamner Variety Theatre features several talented Branson performers who come together for one special night. The pre-show begins at 6:15 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Shindig Shuffle Night With “it”

You can be part of the show, and maybe the world’s largest shindig shuffle line, when you attend this show at Hughes Brothers Theatre. The show starts at 8 p.m. and the shindig shuffle line will start shaping up around 10:30 p.m.

Eastern Heights in Concert at Branson Landing

This 7 p.m. show on May 27 kicks off Branson Landing’s Summer Concert Series. Eastern Heights, a regional trio made up of Rob Blackburn, Grant Moody and Tyler Stephans, covers songs by your favorite country and rock stars and they’ll also play some of their original tunes.

Memorial Day Service at Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery

Paying tribute to those who have served and made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, this commemoration event begins at 11 a.m. on May 29.
