Marilyn Monroe’s Dress is at Ripley’s Believe It or Not!

Don’t miss your chance to take a picture with the world’s most expensive dress at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! The Marilyn Monroe exhibit will only be in Branson for a limited engagement from April 14 – June 10, 2018.

On May 19, 1962, at Madison Square Garden, Marilyn Monroe took the stage and famously sang “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy. Since that day forward, the stunning, provocative nude-colored gown has become one of the most famous items of clothing in twentieth-century culture.

Ripley’s Believe It of Not! set a new Guinness World Records record on November 17, 2016, when they acquired the gown for $4.8 million from Julien’s Auction, making it the most expensive dress ever sold at auction. Add in auction fees and taxes, and the gown cost over $5 million, making it the most expensive dress in the world.

Along with the dress, Marilyn memorabilia and other items from Kennedy’s birthday gala will be on display. The exhibit will include the 1962 Jean Louis designed gown, an original Bob Mackie sketch of Marilyn in the dress, a John F. Kennedy birthday gala ticket, and so much more!
