The Old Mill Theater welcomed their first guests on Aug. 6, 1960. With thirty-five actors and a handful of horses in 1960, the novelty of the outdoor show and the authenticity surrounding its production made it a major attraction in the local area, as well as across the country. Fans traveled for miles to witness the colorful retelling of a familiar story, and still do 60 years later. Co-owner and General Manager Jeff Johnson states, "We couldn't do this show without our guests who come year after year to watch the Story of the Ozarks. The guests are what make the show a big hit to this day.

"We have been inviting all our prior cast members to the Anniversary Show. We would love to have a large turnout of families and cast members who have memories of the show growing up," co-owner Johnson states. He also has a personal connection to the Drama. His grand-dad, Bud Jackson, played the part of Doc Coughlan from the mid-60s to 1988. "I grew up watching the show with my family, so this night means a lot to my family and me."

Many friends and families will be experiencing the same emotions at the 60th Anniversary Show.
