POINT LOOKOUT, MO. — College of the Ozarks will honor the victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack with a special ceremony on Monday, Sept. 11, at 9 a.m., at the Lest We Forget 9/11 Memorial, located next to the C of O Fire Department on the College of the Ozarks campus on James Forsythe Drive.
The College invites all area emergency personnel, first responders, and the general public to participate in the brief ceremony on Monday.
“This year, we are honoring those who fought in the War on Terror after 9/11,” said Bryan Cizek, director of patriotic activities.
• Please, no moving around during the ceremony, especially during the following:
o Presentation of colors
o National Anthem
o Pledge of Allegiance
o Prayer
• No R.S.V.P necessary, but please feel free to call if you have questions.
• Ceremony begins promptly at 9 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 11, 2017. Please be here early for great seating. A limited number of seats will be marked “MEDIA.”
• The gates of campus will be closing at 8:45 a.m. and will not reopen until after the ceremony, approximately 9:45 a.m. BE HERE EARLY TO ENSURE YOUR ENTRANCE TO CAMPUS.
• The event will be held south of the Point Lookout Fire Department. Media will have reserved parking in the Ashcroft Parking Lot in the center of campus and will have reserved seats at the memorial. You will enter the memorial area through the bay of the Point Lookout Fire Department. Signs and parking attendants will be on hand to help direct traffic.
• If you are bringing cameras – video or stills – you will need to be positioned on the media platform that will be centered with the stage. Please no standing from the reserved seating section to take still photos.
• There will be a mult box for your convenience located behind the media platform.
