Branson, MO - On Thursday, July 13, The Shepherd of the Hills announced new ownership and future plans for the property. New owners Jeff Johnson and Steve Faria said they plan to change the name of the property to Shepherd of the Hills Adventure Park after adding new outdoor recreational features while keeping certain traditional elements such as The Shepherd of the Hills pageant and the Christmas Trail of Lights.

The Shepherd of the Hills Homestead Adventure Park will feature ATV trails, rock climbing, a petting farm and fishing pond, a ropes course, the Vigilante ZipRider and more. Johnson said keeping the tradition of the 50-year-old story of The Shepherd of the Hills alive was important to him and his decision to reopen the property.

"My grandparents moved here in the 1960's. They bought the Shepherd of the Hills Motel. My granddad was in the play. I used to come out here all the time when I was a little kid," Johnson said.

The Shepherd of the Hills Homestead Adventure Park is set to open in 2018. The first repoened showing of The Shepherd of the Hills pageant is scheduled for Friday, July 21. More details on property developments will likely be released in the coming weeks. Visit www.theshepherdofthehills.com for more information.
