Funds assist local breast cancer patients and survivors

(Branson, MO January 23, 2018) Tanger Outlets Branson was honored to donate $31,047.24 to Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks (BCFO) through their annual PINK Campaign and Fit for A Cure 5K Run, Walk and Silent Auction. BCFO is a local 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization, which helps friends and neighbors who have been affected by breast cancer.

“On behalf of all those assisted by the foundation, we would like to thank Tanger Outlets and their great team for their generosity and commitment to the community we serve,” said Crystal Webster, Executive Director BCFO.

Since 2000, BCFO has helped over 2,000 families impacted by breast cancer by providing practical financial assistance. This assistance comes in the form of payments for rent/mortgage, utilities, car repairs, gas cards, and car payments to name a few.  BCFO also aids with free mammography screenings. Applications and more information may be found at BCFO.org.

“We are thrilled to assist BCFO in this way,” said Jamie Whiteis, General Manager Tanger Outlets Branson. “The programs and services they provide are exceptional and tremendously beneficial to breast cancer patients and survivors in our area.”

The donated funds were raised throughout the month of October as part of the 24th annual Tanger PINK Campaign and through the annual Fit for A Cure 5K Run, Walk and Silent Auction.  Shoppers could purchase a Pink Savings Pass to save 25% off a single item at participating stores.

Tanger has contributed more than $17 million to breast cancer research since 1994 through the PINK Campaign, 5K races, on-site events and other breast cancer-related fundraising initiatives across the U.S. Proceeds from the unlimited savings pass not only benefitted BCFO, but Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), the nation’s highest-rated breast cancer organization.

Tanger will kick off the 2018 PINK Campaign with the 10th Annual Fit for A Cure 5K Run, Walk and Silent Auction Saturday, September 29 at Tanger Outlets Branson. The lineup includes entertainment by AYO Voices of Glory, Pre-Registration Drawings, Prizes for Best Costumes and Top Finishers including a 2-night stay at Thousand Hills Golf Resort and medals for all who finish the race.
