Museums Attractions & Museums Lakes & Watersports Outdoor Activities

No visit to the lake would be complete without stopping by Dewey Short Visitor Center near Table Rock Dam. FREE to visit. The new visitor center opened April 27, 2012 and has been called the "crown jewel" of Table Rock Lake. Three stories of interactive exhibits provide information on Table Rock Lake and the other dams involved in managing the water within the White River Watershed. A Native American artifact exhibit and Ozarks dioramas are fascinating features of the interpretive center. An interactive water safety exhibit demonstrates the importance of wearing a life jacket, and a 3D topographic map in a hands-on sandbox lets you shape mountains, valleys and cause digital rain. The fascinating history of the US Army Corps of Engineers rounds out the exhibits. Two levels of outdoor decks allow you to take in the breathtaking views of the lake and dam. Picnic tables and benches available. Federal park passes available for purchase.
