Along with The Rolling Stones, Chicago and a few others, Sha Na Na is among the longest-running bands in popular music, dating back to their beginnings as students at Columbia University. Since that time, Sha Na Na has celebrated the music and memories of rock & roll nostalgia in clubs, through con-certs and recordings, in the movies, and on television. Sha Na Na came on the national scene as part of the original 1969 Woodstock Festival lineup, which prompted the group's first record deal. From 1977 to 1981, they starred in 97 episodes of the TV variety show Sha Na Na, which featured the band's music as well as comedy skits with special guests. In 1978, they made their silver screen debut as Johnny Casino and the Gamblers in the hit movie musical Grease; they contributed six recordings to the film, as well as the original song â€œSandy,â€ written by band member Screamin' Scott Simon and sung by John Travolta.

During the season of hope and giving, Tanger Outlets Branson raised and donated $38,101.72 for the battle against breast cancer to Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks (BCFO), a local organization that provides resources and support to local individuals and families impacted by breast cancer. The Sons of the Pioneers announced today that their award winning show will be moving to the Baldknobbers' Theater for the 2014 Branson season. â€œBoth the Baldknobbers and the Pioneers have proud legaciesâ€, said Luther Nallie, 45 year member of the Pioneers. â€œSo it's entirely fitting that our 80th anniversary year in entertainment will be at the Baldknobbers Theater where Branson entertainment history began 55 years ago. We see the two shows as being very complimentary.â€ The Pioneers had their own show at Shepherd of the Hills for the past 10 years until a couple of months ago when Shepherd of the Hills announced they were cancelling all shows and restricting their operations for 2014.
