Liberty Plaza features a 17' x 28' stage area available by reservation only for performances, weddings, and organized events. For information about reserving the stage, contact Branson Parks and Recreation at 417-335-2368 or bransonparksinfo@bransonmo.gov.
The History of Liberty Plaza
The site also holds an important place in Branson history. The property was once home to Branson’s original city hall, community center, and the Taneyhills Library. It also served as the location of one of Branson’s earliest music shows, performed by the Mabe Brothers—later known as the Baldknobbers—in a small basement auditorium on the property.
Visitors may also notice references to the historic Liberty Tree throughout the plaza. The old-growth oak, once located along Lake Taneycomo, served as a landmark and gathering place for generations before its removal in the early 2000s. Today, its legacy continues through Liberty Plaza.
