Estimated Ride: 6–7 hours
Route: Kansas City → Osceola → Camdenton → Lebanon → Branson
Trade the interstate for the scenic backroads of the Missouri Ozarks as you ride from Kansas City to Branson. This route winds through the rolling hills of Warsaw, the Lake of the Ozarks near Camdenton, and charming small towns before leading into the beautiful Ozark Mountains. Along the way, you'll enjoy lake views, forested landscapes, and some of Missouri's best motorcycle roads before arriving in Branson.
Start in Kansas City
Kick off your road trip with a little Kansas City exploring. Grab a cup of coffee, dig into some famous Kansas City barbecue or wander through City Market and the surrounding River Market neighborhood before packing up the car and heading south.
Stock Up on Snacks in Osceola
Every good road trip needs a roadside stop. Make a quick stop at Osceola Cheese Co. to browse its huge selection of cheeses and other goodies, pick up a few road-trip snacks and stretch your legs before continuing south.
Explore the Ozarks in Camdenton
Next up is Camdenton, home to one of Missouri's most unique state parks. At Ha Ha Tonka State Park, explore trails, take in sweeping views of the Lake of the Ozarks and see the park's famous stone castle ruins perched high above the water. If you have more time to spare, head underground on a guided tour of nearby Bridal Cave.
Get Your Kicks in Lebanon
Add a little Route 66 nostalgia to your trip with a stop in Lebanon. Explore the Route 66 Museum inside the Lebanon-Laclede County Library to learn more about the history of the Mother Road and its connection to the area. Have some extra time? Make a detour to Bennett Spring State Park for trails, clear spring waters and a peaceful break outdoors.
Make One Last Stop in Springfield
You're getting close! Before making the final drive into Branson, stop in Springfield to explore more of Missouri's Route 66 history, take a photo in front of the new Queen's Gate 66 statue, grab a bite to eat or spend a few hours exploring the magnificent Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium, dubbed "the largest immersive wildlife attraction in the world."
Finish the Adventure in Branson
Roll into Branson with the Ozarks surrounding you and an entire vacation still ahead. Catch a live show, ride a mountain coaster, explore Historic Downtown, spend a day at Silver Dollar City or unwind along the shores of Table Rock Lake. The road trip may be coming to an end, but your Branson adventure is just getting started.
