Start in Little Rock

Start your road trip the best way possible with a hearty breakfast and a great cup of coffee. Little Rock is home to plenty of local favorites, whether you're craving a fresh pastry, a classic Southern breakfast or a handcrafted latte before hitting the road. Grab a farm-to-table breakfast at The Root Cafe, enjoy fresh pastries and coffee from Community Bakery, or fuel up with Southern favorites at Big Bad Breakfast. If coffee is your priority, stop by Fidel & Co., Nexus Coffee & Creative or Mylo Coffee Co. for a handcrafted drink before heading north toward the Ozarks and the adventures waiting along the way.

Take a Break in Russellville

Russellville is the perfect place to recharge before entering the Ozarks. Stretch your legs at Lake Dardanelle State Park, where you'll find lakeside walking paths, scenic overlooks and a visitor center with exhibits about the area's wildlife. If you're traveling during warmer months, consider renting a kayak or simply relax by the marina while enjoying the lake views.

Discover Jasper

As you wind deeper into the Ozarks, you'll arrive in one of Arkansas's most picturesque mountain towns. Browse the locally owned shops around Jasper's historic square, stop for lunch at the famous Ozark Café, or make a stop or two along Highway 7 to take in the sweeping views of the Arkansas Grand Canyon. The Cliff House Inn & Restaurant lets you dine at the edge of a cliff, while the Scenic Point Gift Shop, just down the road, offers beautiful canyon views from its lookout tower. If time allows, continue to nearby Boxley Valley Historic District, where visitors often spot elk grazing in the fields during the early morning or around sunset.

Between Jasper and Harrison

The scenic drive doesn't end when you leave Jasper. Continue north along Highway 7 to Pruitt Landing on the Buffalo National River, where towering limestone bluffs and crystal-clear water create one of the Ozarks' most picturesque settings. Stretch your legs, enjoy a picnic by the river or simply relax and take in the peaceful scenery before continuing on to Harrison. Once there, browse the locally owned shops around the historic downtown square or grab a bite to eat before making the final drive into Missouri.

Welcome to Ridgedale

As you cross into Missouri, the scenery becomes even more spectacular. Stop in Ridgedale to take in the views of Table Rock Lake, explore the magnificent grounds of Big Cedar Lodge and their public attractions like Fun Mountain. If you're looking to stretch your legs one last time before arriving in Branson, head to Top of the Rock where you'll find the Lost Canyon Cave & Nature Trail, the Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum, breathtaking overlooks, and three restaurants to choose from.
