Springtime can be an invigorating time to visit Branson, with the reawakening of our beautiful Ozark Mountain setting, arrival of milder temperatures, and return to full schedules for our Live Shows, Family Fun, and Outdoor Adventures.
If you’re thinking of a Branson spring break or an easy weekend getaway, here’s what you can expect to find open and blooming this season.
What Spring Feels Like in Branson

As spring awakens the Ozarks, the Branson Lakes Area bursts to life with blooming dogwoods, redbuds, wildflowers, and lush flora. Temperatures are often brisk in the morning and T-shirt weather by the afternoon.
Our tourism season also reawakens. Bass and crappie begin spawning at our three pristine lakes, trails free of bugs and overgrowth beckon, patio-dining season emerges, tee times start filling up, and the area’s theaters and entertainment venues reset for the live show season.
Easy Spring Weekend Ideas
We’ve got ideas to help you build the perfect spring itinerary for your interests.

Scenic Drives
The Ozark landscapes change dramatically throughout the year, and the early growth season is one you shouldn’t miss. You’ll see crystal-clear water, verdant forest foliage, soft pink hues of redbuds, along with other colorful blooms, and much more on scenic drives throughout our region. Spend some time enjoying the twists and turns, from the Big Cedar Lodge driving trail to the 22-mile Highway 165 Scenic Overlook loop. So everyone in the family can sit back and enjoy the view, consider riding the Branson Scenic Railway or booking a Pink Jeep Adventure tour.
Early Lake Days
Spring is a slower time to discover our three pristine lakes: Table Rock, Taneycomo, and Bull Shoals. The water is teeming with fish, there’s more availability at the resort lodging and camping facilities, and you’ll have plenty of solitude to relax, hike, or boat. Our lakes offer easy access to fishing guide services and a wide range of boat rentals, making this a hassle-free option to admire the surreal beauty Missouri has to offer.
Trails & Nature Walks
Families and casual hikers have hundreds of trails to choose from, each offering unique views and providing tranquil moments in the fresh spring air. Morel mushroom hunting is a favorite seasonal activity that draws foragers to the area’s wooded trails, while birdwatchers spot migratory species returning to the region.
Head out on your own or choose a more curated experience like the paved scenic paths at Dogwood Canyon Nature Park. They offer an array of family-friendly activities, from renting bicycles to guided tours focused on horseback riding, trout fishing, and wildlife viewing.
Outdoor Dining
Whether you pick up supplies for a lakeside picnic or choose a restaurant with a patio and a view, spring in Branson is the perfect time for open‑air dining or sipping and savoring at a nearby winery. Visitors can enjoy lakefront dining overlooking picturesque Lake Taneycomo at a Branson Landing eatery with fire pits, covered seating, and live music, or take in an Ozark sunset from the stunning stone patio at Big Cedar Lodge’s Top of the Rock.
Family-Friendly Activities
Spring is a favorite time for visitors to experience Silver Dollar City, when mild weather, seasonal festivals, and the park’s lush wooded landscape bursting with new growth make the 1880s theme park especially enjoyable and photo friendly.
Other attractions that are ideal in the spring include mountain coasters, zip lines, bumper boats, go-karts, mini golf, ropes courses, and more outdoor adventures.
Season Opening
Branson’s live entertainment scene springs back to life by March 1, when theaters begin launching their new seasons. Early spring is an exciting time to experience fresh productions and discover new talent on stage. Known as the Live Entertainment Capital of the Midwest, Branson offers more than 100 live shows to choose from, including illusion and magic, comedy, every genre of music, dinner shows, family-friendly daytime performances, and even entertainment aboard Silver Dollar City's Showboat.
