Experience Shepherd of the Hills in Branson

If you haven’t visited Shepherd of the Hills in a while, you will be surprised at all the new activities for your family to enjoy!

Shepherd of the Hills has been a favorite of Branson visitors for over 50 years. The Ozark Mountains caught the interest of the nation in 1907 when Harold Bell Wright’s novel, The Shepherd of the Hills, was published.

Wright’s characters in the novel are based on people he met during his visit to the Ozark Mountains in the late 1800’s, and the places he describes are on or surrounding the Shepherd of the Hills property of today. While visiting, you can take a Historic Homestead Tour and experience the Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Drama, which bring Wright’s timeless tale to life.

You don’t want to miss the panoramic views from Inspiration Tower, the highest point in southwest Missouri. After enjoying the vistas, ride back down the elevator to explore more of the property, or hop on the Vigilante Extreme ZipRider for a much faster way down!

New to Shepherd of the Hills is the Adventure Park, full of a variety of exciting activities for all ages. Try the guided ATV Adventures for a thrilling experience through the Ozark Mountain backwoods! For another adrenaline rush, take a Zipline Canopy Tour. Those who want just a little adventure can take a shorter canopy tour that requires little hiking and no stair-climbing—perfect for the whole family!

Explore the 3-story outdoor Ropes Course for a unique and active adventure. There’s even a Little Tykes Course for those under 48 inches tall! The littlest ones in your group might also like Lil Pete’s Playland with its timed American Ninja Warrior Course, treehouses, putt-putt golf, petting zoo, gem sifting and more!
