Autumn in Branson is filled with outdoor events, giving locals and visitors entertaining options to enjoy mild, comfortable weather, uncrowded lakes and forested scenery showing off its most vibrant reds, oranges and yellows.
From mid-September to November, you won’t find a weekend without fall festivities on the calendar, from large festivals at our biggest attractions to smaller community gatherings, farm festivals, pumpkin patches, live seasonal shows and ongoing fall activities aplenty.
From Historic Downtown Branson to Shepherd of the Hills and Silver Dollar City, many of the Branson area’s major attractions stage large-scale festivals to coincide with crisp fall weather and the Ozark Mountains’ autumnal backdrops. When you’re thinking of a fall getaway, any of these events is worth planning your itinerary around.
Sept. 11–Oct. 31
Silver Dollar City Harvest Festival
Families return every year for this premiere event at Silver Dollar City, consistently voted atop the list of America’s Best Theme Park in USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. The Harvest Festival runs mid-September through October and is a feast for the eyes and the stomach. More than 20,000 pumpkins create amazing displays and photo ops while the park’s eateries serve limited-time menus showcasing seasonal ingredients and fall favorite pumpkin and apple flavors.
You’ll want to experience the festival during daylight to see the intricately carved masterpieces and at night when towering pumpkin sculptures are illuminated. In addition to the normal park favorites including rides, live shows and resident master craftsmen demonstrating blacksmithing, glassblowing, pottery and more, the park hosts hundreds of visiting artisans from across the nation creating heritage crafts, fine art, home goods and fiber arts, among others.

Shepherd of the Hills PumpkinFest
From mid-September until late October, enjoy PumpkinFest at Shepherd of the Hills, a family entertainment park and historic farm inspired by the classic 1907 novel “The Shepherd of the Hills” by Harold Bell Wright that helped introduce the Branson region to visitors across the country.
The festival happens at Shepherd’s Adventure Park with over 30 fall-themed activities, including hayrides, pumpkin painting, barnyard animals, a corn pit and other play areas, miniature golf, photo ops and much more. Add-on experiences range from evening open-air productions at Thurman Old Mill Outdoor Theater on select dates to Pumpkins Aglow — a night walk through glowing displays.

Still Waters Resort’s Harvest Festival
Still Waters Resort throws an annual Harvest Festival from mid-September through October. Open to overnight guests and the public, there is fun for the entire family with pumpkin bowling, giant inflatables, live music, food vendors and craft making at the lakefront resort.

Fall Fest in Historic Downtown Branson
One weekend each fall, the downtown district throws a celebration of autumn and community. Sip warm cider while strolling through streets filled with pumpkins and fall décor, find exclusive sales, enjoy face painting and balloon artists, participate in a pumpkin scavenger hunt for fun prizes and snap photos at cozy seasonal photo ops this Fall Fest!

Fall Roundup & The Prairie Collective
Autumn arrives in full force at Sycamore Creek Ranch this October, where two seasonal traditions come together for one memorable weekend. On October 3, the farm debuts The Prairie Collective, a curated market featuring handpicked vendors known for craftsmanship and creativity, tucked inside a rustic barn setting. That same day marks the opening of The Fall Roundup, running every weekend through early November and offering all the charm of a classic autumn afternoon: hayrides, a corn maze, pumpkins, crackling fires, and mugs of hot cocoa or apple cider slushies. Visitors can spend the day soaking in the farm's fresh air and scenic beauty, then wander through the market for handcrafted finds before the weekend winds down. With activities for every age and a Hallmark-movie atmosphere throughout, Sycamore Creek offers one of the season's most inviting ways to slow down and celebrate fall in the Ozarks.

The Month of October | Saturdays
Cedar Fest at Big Cedar Lodge
On Saturdays throughout October, Big Cedar Lodge puts an autumn spin on all of its favorite activities with Cedar Fest. Overnight guests and the general public can enjoy tram rides to Big Cedar’s pumpkin patch, pumpkin decorating, inflatables, face painting, crafting and more. After dark, the Swimmin’ Hole Lawn comes to life with bonfires, s’mores and movie nights under the stars.

Veterans Homecoming Week
Veterans are honored all year long in Branson, but Veterans Homecoming Week is a special weeklong commemoration for servicemen and women. Special concerts, reunions, dinners, activities and the city’s annual Veterans Day Parade in Historic Downtown are all a part of the event in early November.
Local Community Events
Several nearby communities also organize fall-focused festivals. Hollister’s Grape & Fall Festival will take place on October 10 in the small town of Hollister, just minutes outside of Branson. The event is one of Hollister's oldest and favorite traditions, packed full of fun and community in the form of a grape stomp competition, dog pageant, live music, craft booths, local business vendors, Color Me Grape 5K run and plenty of food and beverage options.
Forsyth’s Harvest Moon Festival at Shoals Bend Park in Forsyth, about 15 miles from Downtown Branson, is on October 3 and includes live music, craft and food vendors, a donut-eating contest, a karaoke contest, a water brigade content and traditional fall activities.
