Branson, MO - Branson's Lights of Joy is pleased to announce the Christmas Light Drive Thru will open November 1st, 2020. This year marks the second year under the new name, Lights of Joy. The event has operated since 2015 as Branson’s Gift of Lights located at Expressway Lane just north of Sight and Sound Theatre before changing their name last year.
Steve Hager, manager of the seasonal attraction said, "It is our mission that our guests see the joy of Christmas and all it represents.” Visitors will see fantastic and brilliant LED lights that illustrate Santa and the 12 Days of Christmas, but they will also see the life of Christ represented from his nativity, to his resurrection and ascension. “At the end of the day we think there is something for everyone and it will bring joy to all.”
With folks having a heightened sensitivity to what they do during the pandemic this Christmas light drive thru is the perfect attraction during the covid season. People are able to stay in their cars and enjoy the lights, what a great opportunity to get out and do something fun and exciting.
Santa will be making appearances on Friday and Saturday nights each weekend before Christmas. Santa’s appearance will take on a different form this year due to social distancing requirements. We are going to have to tweak the experience a bit’” said Hager. “We’re going to do our best to continue to bring smiles to the faces of children.”
Lights of Joy has partnered with Trilakes Klife and Christian Action Ministries in past years. Visit lightsofjoydrivethru.com to see how you can help these organizations as you experience Lights of Joy this year.
Lights of Joy opens to families, limousines, and motor coaches at dusk on November 1 and is open nightly through January 2. The light drive-thru is a little over a mile long and lined on both sides with hundreds of displays as well as an RGB tunnel to drive thru.
