Branson Crappie Expo & Mr. Crappie Classic Tournament

The Crappie Expo that first came to Branson in 2020 is coming back by popular demand and has even more thrills and excitement for fishing enthusiasts than before.

At the 2020 Branson Crappie Expo, everyone experienced a bigger and better indoor expo that was paired with the Mr. Crappie $200K Invitational Crappie Classic Tournament. 

In 2019, Hot Springs, Arkansas hosted the Crappie Expo, and attracted more than 45,000 fans in its debut year. Last year, the Crappie Expo found its new home right here in Branson, Missouri, and is expecting even more buzz than before. 

This record-breaking 2020 event was held on October 29 through November 1 at the Branson Convention Center and Table Rock Lake State Park. 

This event had over 100 vendors from all over the nation, and all over areas of the industry. Everyone was sure to find the perfect catch. Those who attended were also invited to indulge in the World’s Largest Crappie Fry.

The World’s Largest Crappie Fry was held on Saturday, October 31, at 11 a.m. Fish Fry tickets were handed out at the Crappie Expo on Saturday. The fresh fried crappie, hushpuppies and taters were given away until the supplies ran out.

Next, the attendees headed to Table Rock State Park for the 2020 Mr. Crappie $200K Invitational Crappie Classic Tournament. This tournament attracts the best of the best in the sport. Tournament itinerary is as follows: 

Thursday, October 29:
7 a.m. 100 teams took off from the State Park Marina on Table Rock Lake.
3 p.m. October 29, there was a weigh-in at the State Park Marina weigh-in site. The 100 teams were cut to 50 teams to compete on October 30.

Friday, October 30:
7 a.m. 50 teams took off from the State Park Marina and fished till 2 p.m.
The weigh-in was held at the Crappie Expo in the Branson Convention Center on stage.
Teams were cut to the top 25 teams for the Mr. Crappie Invitational Championship on Saturday.

Saturday October 31:
Saturday = final day of the tournament
Top 25 teams took off at 7 a.m. from the State Park Marina on Table Rock lake.
The championship weigh-in was held at 3 p.m. at the Branson Convention Center to crown the winner of the largest crappie tournament payout in crappie fishing history.

When describing the event, founder and organizer, Wally Marshall (aka Mr. Crappie) said, “we'll have boat and tackle manufacturers showing and selling their products, tackle dealers offering the latest and greatest fishing gear, expert instruction from top fishing pros, daily music concerts, plus the World's Largest Fish Fry and the sport's most prestigious tournament. We'll also have a drawing for a free Ranger boat!”
