Thousands of veterans and active military personnel visit Branson every year, and we do our best to show our gratitude. Branson honors servicemen and women with special deals and discounts available for all aspects of their trip, standing tributes during live shows, memorials and displays, military reunions and renowned national events like Veterans Homecoming Week in November. We've put together a guide of some of the ways veterans, active-duty servicemen and women and military families are recognized all year long in Branson.
Best Discounts and Deals for Active Military Members and Veterans
Many of Branson's top attractions, restaurants, shows, hotels and stores offer great deals for veterans and military members. Please note: Some discounts may be subject to change seasonally.
Many of Branson's live shows include a touching salute to veterans, and most offer discounts of 10-20%. The Petersens, located at the Little Opry Theatre, offer half-off tickets to veterans. Other shows with popular discounts include Branson's Famous Baldknobbers, Dolly Parton's Stampede Dinner Attraction, SIX, The Haygoods, Clay Cooper's Country Express and Pierce Arrow.
Veterans and active military members can enjoy discounts of 10-15% at a number of Branson’s restaurants including Longhorn Steakhouse, Farmhouse Restaurant, Branson's Center Stage Grille & Kaffee Haus, Paula Dean's Family Kitchen, Fall Creek Steak & Catfish House, Mellow Mushroom, Florentina's Ristorante Italiano, Golden Coral Buffet & Grill and Shoney’s. On Veterans Day, many locations also offer free meals to honor our men and women who have served.
Whether you’re looking to fly high on one of the thrill rides at The Branson Coaster, snap hilarious keepsake photographs at the Hollywood Wax Museum, be wowed at Ripley’s Believe It or Not, discover artifacts at the Titanic Museum Attraction or walk among winged friends at the Butterfly Palace & Rainforest Adventure, many of Branson’s top attractions offer $2-$3 discounts on tickets for active and retired military members and their families. A popular deal offered at the must-see Silver Dollar City and White Water amusement parks includes a two-day ticket for the price of a one-day ticket, or $5 off a one-day ticket for veterans or active military members. Dependent military children age 4-11 receive complimentary two-day tickets when they are accompanied by a parent purchasing a two-day military ticket.
Active military personnel and veterans can receive discounts at many top-name factory stores at the Tanger Outlets in Branson, such as Eddie Bauer, GAP, Old Navy, Polo Ralph Lauren and Under Armour. The outlet mall also offers active military personnel and their families a free coupon book. At the Branson Landing, Bass Pro Shops offers 5% off purchases year-round for all five military branches and the National Guard and Reserves. Belk, another anchor store at the Landing, hosts a military service discount every Tuesday for 20% off purchases. Other military specials and discounts may vary at the Landing's attractions, restaurants and entertainment.
Lodging and Transportation
A variety of hotels and resorts honor veterans and military personnel with 10-20% off (depending on the season). Past and present servicemen and women can enjoy a discounted stay at the luxurious Big Cedar Lodge, Chateau on the Lake, Resort, Spa & Convention Center or the family-friendly Grand Country Resort & Waterpark. The state-of-the-art Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel features an active military and veterans discount, as well as a prime location. It’s within walking distance to the Branson Landing and Historic Downtown Branson. Other popular lodging favorites include the Branson Towers Hotel, Quality Inn, Marriott’s Willow Ridge Lodge and Barrington Hotel & Suites. Many hotels that offer military discounts nationally have locations in Branson, including Best Western, the Clarion Hotel, Comfort Inn & Suites, Quality Inn and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
Top name car rental facilities in and around Branson offer great discounts for veterans and military personnel. At Avis, you can receive a discount of up to 25%. Alamo and National also offer discounts, and Enterprise, founded by a World War II veteran, features an entire Veterans Advantage Discount program.
Veterans Homecoming Week
Branson proudly recognizes veterans and active servicemen and women each year with its week-long Veterans Homecoming Week. This year's event will take place November 8-12 and will feature multiple tributes and celebrations of veterans.
Events and Commemorations
Scheduled festivities include the IMAX Military Film Festival, a Military Gala and Banquet, Branson's long-running Veteran’s Day Parade (a tradition now over 80 years old), themed shows, memorial ceremonies and more.
Military and Veterans Exhibits
Several war memorials and educational displays are located in and near Branson, marking the sacrifice of servicemen and women from different eras of military history. Veterans and visitors journey to these exhibits year-round to remember and pay respect to our heroes.
College of the Ozarks Memorials (temporarily closed due to COVID-19)
At the entrance of the College of the Ozarks in Hollister (just outside of Branson), the Missouri Vietnam Veterans Memorial bears the name of more than 1,400 Missourians who served and died in the Vietnam War. The Korean War Memorial on campus honors the 36,574 Americans who sacrificed their lives in battle, including 944 Missourians. The Global War on Terrorism Memorial represents all modern warriors who have fought for freedom. Other memorials in the college's Patriots Park include the the Missouri Gold Star Families Memorial, the Alumni Veterans Memorial and the September 11 "Lest We Forget" Memorial.
Veterans Memorial Museum
Located on W 76 Country Blvd, this museum is hard to miss—just look for the P-51 Mustang fighter. The Veterans Memorial Museum is a moving tribute to those who served in the U.S. Armed Forces across all branches of service. Exhibits include sculptures, murals and thousands of pieces of military memorabilia. Displays throughout the museum show names of the soldiers killed in action since World War II.
Traveling Vietnam Veterans Wall Replica
The traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial will be open at Branson's Welk Resort throughout Veterans Homecoming Week. The wall lists more than 58,000 service members who died in Vietnam. The Traveling Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Opening Ceremony will be held at Welk Resort on November 5, 2019 at 10 am and will feature special performances by many of Branson's biggest live show stars.
Grand Country Resort Veterans Patch Wall
At the Grand Country Resort & Waterpark, guests will discover an exhibit with hundreds of patches from various military branches, units and divisions.
